For most Americans the most important thing to us is our family. With regards to keeping your house secure, you need to get the “it won’t happen to me” attitude out of your head. Robbery, violence, and theft are happing in your neighborhood and in your city. It can very easily happen to you if you are not willing to take some basic steps to protect yourself and family. If our family is our most important assets and we must to take the basic steps in being sure they are protected. With the economy down and so many people laid off, crime is on the rise. Being a Police Officer myself, I along with the brave men and women that are out every day and night try to protect you, are very aware of the rise in crime that is taking place daily. You can pick up any big city news paper and just about everyday there is a body found shot, robbery gone bad, someone running from the police and the list goes on and one. Don’t become a static in the news paper. Crime no’s no boundary, if you live in the suburbs crime is coming to your neighborhood. If you are not locking your doors at night, if you are not leaving lights on, if you are not closing the window blinds at night, YOU ARE THE DIRECT FOCUS OF THESE CRIMINALS! Residential and personal security should be a critical component of your everyday life. We are not living in the 50’s and 60’s anymore, the values of young adults and children are not the same.

By accepting the fact that you can be a victim is the first step to protection. If you continue with the attitude “it won’t happen to me” you will be the victim.
